Short Forecast from Weather Workshop valid to midnight tomorrow.
For Northland, Auckland and Coromandel Peninsula: Areas of rain easing to a few showers with fine periods developing this afternoon. A few further showers tomorrow.
For Bay of Plenty: Widespread rain with a few heavy falls easing to a few showers this evening. One or two showers persisting tomorrow.
From Waikato south to the central plateau, also for Gisborne and northern Hawkes Bay: Rain spreading slowly south to affect most areas by this afternoon with a few heavy falls about the Gisborne ranges tonight. Rain clearing from most areas tomorrow.
For remaining North Island areas: Cloud thickening with scattered rain developing after dark. Tomorrow, rain clearing.
In Buller and Nelson: Cloudy with patchy rain at times.
For Westland and Fiordland: High cloud but remaining dry.
In Marlborough and Canterbury: Cloudy with coastal drizzle developing turning to scattered rain about Marlborough tonight.
For Otago and Southland: Mainly fine and frosty. A few light showers possible about the south coast.
For Chatham Islands: Any remaining showers clearing.
