Case of Missing American Citizen Robert Levinson
American citizen Robert Levinson, who disappeared during a business trip to Kish Island, Iran, on March 8, has now been missing for almost nine months. Mr. Levinson's wife Christine, their son Daniel, and other family members plan to visit Tehran to press the Iranian government on his case later this month. We urge the Iranian authorities to provide all possible assistance to the Levinson family during their journey.
The Government of Iran has informed us through the U.S. Protecting Power in Iran, the Swiss Embassy, that Iranian authorities have conducted an investigation but do not know what happened to Mr. Levinson. Despite numerous requests to the Iranians, we have not received any details on the results of the Iranian investigation.
We again call upon Iran to share with the Levinson family and the Swiss Embassy in Tehran all information they have uncovered during their investigations into this case.
