PM reflects on 'constructive' talks with Chirac
Tony Blair held informal discussions with French president Jacques Chirac in Paris today.
The PM said it had been a 'good and constructive' meeting focusing on the EU summit at Hampton Court in London later this month.
He told journalists:
"What we will try to do is to set out some of the directions we think Europe should take in the light of the challenge it faces.
"The European leadership is being asked a lot of questions about citizens at the moment. We can make Europe work by improving the prosperity, security and way of life for people."
He said he wanted a 'good summit with positive outcomes.'
While in France the PM also met with French premier Dominique de Villepin.
