12 year-old Palestinian shot in the back of the head during demonstration against the wall
[Kharbatha Bani Harith, RAMALLAH] Yesterday, Thursday, March 18, 2004, Muntaser Fares Nasser, 12 year-old boy from Kharbatha Bani Harith village near Deir Qaddis in Ramallah district was left in critical condition after being shot with a rubber-coated metal bullet in the back of the head.
He was shot by the Israeli army during a demonstration against the Wall in Kharbatha Bani Harith village where the Israeli army has started to clear areas for the construction of the wall. He was shot in the back of the head while running away from the soldiers. He was taken to Ramallah hospital where he was operated immediately. He is now left with serious brain damages and left ankle paralyzed.
The planned path of the wall will eventually turn this area into a prison for its residents, making it difficult for them to access jobs, health care and education. Demonstrations are still going on today in Kharbatha Bani Harith village and Palestinians remain mobilized in their struggle for the survival of their community.
