Iroquois pilot, Flying Officer Will Neil, and Helicopter Crewman Corporal Leigh Aynsley (Right) return to camp after another successful flight. The Air Force has 4 Iroquois helicopters flying out of Henderson Field near Honiara as part of Operation Helpem Fren, the Regional Assistance to the Solomon Islands.
An Air Force Iroquois flies along the coastline of Guadalcanal, in the Solomon Islands. The New Zealand Defence Force currently has 105 personnel deployed as part of Operation Helpem Fren, the Regional Assistance Mission to the Solomon Islands (RAMSI). Typical tasks for the 4 New Zealand Iroquois include transporting police and military personnel and supplies to isolated outposts and villages around the Solomon Island Group.
