An Amnesty International delegation arrives today in Jerusalem at the start of a research mission in Israel and the
Occupied Territories, including the areas under the jurisdiction of the Palestinian Authority.
The Amnesty International research mission -the fifth of its kind since September 2000- will focus on concerns related
to the current intifada, in particuar the killings of Palestinian and Israeli civilians, house demolitions and closures
affecting residents of villages and towns in the Occupied Territories.
The delegation is composed of Philippe Hensman, Director of the Belgian (Francophone) Section of Amnesty International,
Jakkie Potgieter, a South African military expert, and Elizabeth Hodgkin, a staff member of the International
Sectretariat of Amnesty International.
