Pol-Econ Officer delivered reftel points on Community of
Democracies (CD) in advance of the UNGA meetings to MFA
Diplomatic Advisor Pedro Courela on September 12. We
underscored the U.S. interest in supporting Portugal's
Chairmanship and reiterated our hope that the CD members will
contribute to the working groups, the Secretariat, and
results-based projects over the next year. Courela offered
no comment.
