Econoff delivered reftel demarche to Jiri Slavik at the
Czech MFA Department for Development Cooperation June 13.
Slavik confirmed that the GOCR is fully aware of the critical
situation of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon and said on June
11, the MFA approved CZK 3 million (approximately US$
150,000) for funding the UNRWA Flash Appeal. The Czech
Embassy in Beirut is in direct contact with UNRWA to
implement that commitment. The GOCR has also approved CZK 2
million (about US$ 100,000) as its annual contribution to
UNRWA.
