GeoSystems provides tracking expertise for Cure Kids Queenstown $10 Challenge
September, 2008 – The Queenstown $10 Challenge is on again this year, raising money for the Cure Kids foundation. GeoSystems is excited once again to be involved in tracking Cure Kids competitors throughout the race from Auckland to Queenstown.
Now into its fourth year, competitors will make their way in pairs from Auckland to Queenstown over three days, with only $10 to survive on throughout the race. In addition, competitors must undertake a wide variety of challenges to earn points along the way. This year’s challenge begins on 1 October.
For the third consecutive year, GeoSystems is sponsoring the Queenstown $10 Challenge, using its Mr Hawk and TrimTrac technology to track the competitors as they make their way to Queenstown. TrimTrac technology provides crucial assistance to race organizers, allowing them to account for the whereabouts of the whole team at any time throughout the country. The Mr Hawk web-based application allows supporters to track the teams online, adding an exciting dimension to the race.
Friends, family, and other supporters can log into the Mr Hawk website at www.mrhawk.co.nz to check how the teams are progressing. TrimTrac is a low-cost GPS tracking device that can be used for cars and other vehicles, including boats, heavy machinery, and other hire equipment. It provides extensive vehicle reporting, including vehicle odometer readings, speeding reports, ignition monitoring, and theft or intrusion alerts. The Mr Hawk web-based application for TrimTrac provides extensive reporting from the TrimTrac device, which can be supplemented with maps from Land Information New Zealand or Google.
