James Pascoe Limited Extends SAP Investment
Angus & Coote Joins Farmers, Pascoes, Stewart Dawsons on SAP Financials
Privately owned New Zealand retailer James Pascoe Limited is expanding its SAP investment, rolling out SAP Financials
into its recently acquired Australian jewellery chain, Angus & Coote, which has 245 stores across the country, trading as Angus & Coote, Goldmark and J’s Room.
James Pascoe purchased Angus & Coote in February this year and SAP Financials went live in the chain by October replacing the legacy system.
Kevin Turner, Group General Manager Finance at James Pascoe, says the move from Oracle to SAP went very smoothly and
will support standardised business processes across the entire group.
“Having all parts of the business running on SAP is great for ensuring consistency in all our procedures,” says Turner.
“It reduces our operating costs, makes reconciliation of intercompany balances easier and means that we have consistent
general accounting codes.”
SAP New Zealand Managing Director, Ian Black, is pleased that James Pascoe has chosen to leverage its local SAP
foundation to reap benefits in its Australian operations too.
“By implementing SAP Financials in Angus & Coote in Australia, James Pascoe is able to ensure that the business strategy and process are aligned across the entire
organisation.”
The implementation was completed on time and on budget.
James Pascoe Limited owns Farmers, Pascoes and Stewart Dawsons in New Zealand and the Prouds and Angus & Coote chains in Australia. Its more than 500 jewellery stores make it the largest jewellery retailer in Australasia and
it is thought to be the fifth largest in the world.
Farmers was the first part of the group to implement SAP in August 2004 followed by James Pascoe head office in 2005. In
2006 Prouds in Australia moved to SAP Financials. Farmers also uses SAP for Retail and the fully integrated Warehouse
Management solutions.
