Velocity Global Announces Ray Burns as Chief Technical Officer
NEW ZEALAND - January 24, 2005 - Velocity Global, a total information and communication business solutions provider, has appointed Ray Burns as its chief technical officer.
In the role as chief technical officer, Ray is responsible for all the aspects of the research and development of business software. Some of the specific functions involve assessing new software, attending industry events and understanding the future direction of the software industry and its place in business. He is also involved in general management, strategy development and finance roles for Velocity Global.
Ray's expertise lies in helping customers manage their businesses through best utilising total technology solutions, from ERP to CRM and Data Mining to Web Development.
Ray joined Velocity Global in 1991, initially working with its customer Zuellig Pharma, Asia Pacific's leading pharmaceutical and healthcare distribution and logistics provider. This role was based in Bangkok. He has also been involved in ERP solution implementations with customers including Monaco, Greenfingers and City Care.
Before Velocity Global, Ray was the professional services manager for Martin Spencer and Associates, a business planning control systems provider. He also worked at CSI to establish its UNIX practice.
Ray holds a BCom from the University of Auckland.
