BioGro NZ continues to lead in Organic certification
BioGro NZ has been approved by the New Zealand Food Safety Authority (formerly MAF Food) as a Third Party Agency for the recently launched Official Organic Assurance Programme (OOAP).
Increasing consumer demand for organic products which have a credible guarantee of authenticity has led many of New Zealand’s major export markets, like the European Union (EU) and USA to establish stringent national quality assurance requirements. The OOAP has been developed by NZFSA in conjunction with Organic Product Exporters of New Zealand (OPENZ) and other industry groups in order to maintain access for organic exports to the EU and the USA. The programme provides official government assurance that organic exports have been produced in accordance with the EU and USDA regulations. Full details of the programme can be viewed at www.nzfsa.govt.nz.
The approval of BioGro as a Third Party Agency consolidates their position as the leading organic certification body in New Zealand. BioGro certified organic products have access to all the major export markets and are highly regarded in New Zealand’s rapidly growing domestic market.
“BioGro CEO Seager Mason says “We are now in our 20th year of operation and will continue to work with exporters and regulatory bodies to ensure consumer confidence in organic products and to ensure market access and growth for our producers”.
