NZCS Press Release WebNet Topics

Published: Mon 17 Jun 2002 03:15 PM
Attendees at the NZ Computer Society WebNet session 12Jun02 sponsored by Spherion ranked 21 suggested Topics.
The ranking shows a great need for education for in-depth understanding of how the web works. "Poor design of web sites arises not just from lack of understanding of Human Computer Interface factors but because the way it works is not well understood" says Ian Mitchell.
"What you need to know" was quickly surfaced in vigorous discussion lead by Paul Reynolds.
Worse, Site Policies were ranked at zero. "Web developers are insufficiently aware of the legal protections they need". The NZCS Law of IT sessions will address this serious deficiency.
These sessions will clearly become the Auckland forum for leading edge knowledge on the WWW and the Internet.
