Open Text Increases Presence In New Zealand With Appointment Of Gen-I Reseller Partner
gen-i to market Open Text Livelink® Collaborative Commerce Solution
Sydney - November 30, 2001—Open Text™ Corporation, a worldwide leader in delivering collaborative commerce solutions, has expanded its presence in New Zealand with the appointment of gen-i as a value added distributor for its Livelink® collaborative knowledge management solutions.
gen-i, New Zealand’s largest Internet integration company, will join Open Text’s Affinity Partner Program, a global team of strategic resellers, system integrators and developer partners that work with Open Text to deliver collaborative knowledge management solutions with the highest level of service and support available.
gen-i has been a provider of document management solutions in New Zealand for over 20 years and will now offer Open Text’s market leading Livelink solution to compliment its offering. IDC, an industry analyst research firm, indicates that Open Text has 47% of the worldwide team collaborative applications space.
“Livelink compliments our legacy of providing the right fit to New Zealand companies in terms of functionality, pricing and speed in return on investment,” said Cherry Vanderbeke, General Manager, Ventures, gen-i.
“Maintaining intellectual property is a priority today and the market has now matured enough to view the promise of intranets as a competitive tool for sharing information across the enterprise,” said Mr Garth Biggs, Chief Executive Officer, gen-i.
“With Open Text’s Livelink, New Zealand companies can now benefit from key applications including virtual team collaboration, business process automation, knowledge library, information retrieval and enterprise group scheduling. We’re continually looking at the best industry solutions to take to market and Livelink is a solution that suits our local market conditions in terms of pricing and product fit at this juncture in IT spending cycles,” Mr Biggs added.
Open Text’s Livelink is the world’s first Web-based application that delivers organisations comprehensive, enterprise-wide collaborative knowledge management. By combining rich collaborative functionality, an intuitive Web-based user interface and a modular architecture, Livelink offers unprecedented power and extensibility to share knowledge and collaborate within an organisation.
gen-i will provide value-added services for Livelink development in the New Zealand market, including systems integration, technical training and support, software customisation and application development. “One of the compelling reasons for us to take on the product was its ease of use and inherent functionality – indeed, its ability to work from day one without weeks of customisation, a huge benefit for New Zealand companies,” said Ms Vanderbeke.
Mr John Armenakas, Vice President and Managing Director, Open Text Asia Pacific, said, “Our goal is to build a strong team of resellers, solution providers and development partners in our region who share our commitment to offering superior collaborative knowledge management solutions with the highest level of service and support available. Market leadership and scale in the Asia Pacific Region can only be achieved by collaborating with a constituency of selected developers, VARs and customers.”
“Just as Livelink enables organisations to work more productively and constructively, we look forward to working with gen-i to deliver to New Zealand organisations the management benefits and competitive edge that come with harnessing their intellectual capital,” Mr Armenakas added.
