PM must release Cabinet Office advice on Jones issue

Published: Tue 12 Mar 2019 10:00 AM
The Prime Minister must release advice given by the Cabinet Office to Shane Jones regarding his conflict of interest, says the New Zealand Taxpayers’ Union.
Taxpayers’ Union spokesman Louis Houlbrooke says “If, as the Prime Minister said in today’s post-Cabinet press conference, Cabinet Office advice led Mr Jones to attend a Provincial Growth Fund decision meeting despite his acknowledgement of a conflict of interest, that advice must be released. The public deserve to see whether Mr Jones followed the advice directly or whether it was effectively ignored.”
