Smith investigation warrants executed
Auckland City Police investigating prison absconder Phillip Smith's activities prior to his departure from New Zealand recently, are aware of allegations about a Department of Corrections staff member and today located and spoke with the person named in those allegations.
District Commander Superintendent Richard Chambers said Police also executed two search warrants at separate addresses in relation to the allegations.
"No further arrests in connection to the investigation were made during this morning's activities."
Any information about employment matters relating to the person at the centre of Smith's allegations should be directed to the Department of Corrections.
No further information is available from Police on this aspect of the investigation today.
