Police has now released an image of Kenneth John BURNS, a 34-year-old offender who escaped from Corrections custody yesterday (11 December, 2014).
He is of Maori descent, approximately 173cms tall, and of medium to solid build. He was last seen wearing a greenish coloured top and grey pants, and was not wearing shoes.
BURNS should not be approached; but if anyone knows his whereabouts, Police ask they call 111 immediately.
Police is working closely with Corrections, and officers are continuing with area inquiries in an effort to locate BURNS.
Police believe BURNS may have affiliations in the wider Whanganui area and want to remind people that assisting an escaped prisoner is an offence and may lead to an investigation and prosecution.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Whanganui Police on (06) 349 0600. Alternatively information can be provided anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
