Objectionable Hip-Hop Song Offensive to All NZ’ers
Family First is slamming Auckland hip-hop crew @peace for their new release containing lyrics that threaten to kill
Prime Minister John Key and have sex with his daughter.
“You cannot go any lower than this type of personal and offensive attack on a politician and their family, and all New
Zealanders will be appalled not only by these types of lyrics but also that the band has received NZ On Air funding
previously,” says Bob McCoskrie, National Director of Family First NZ.
“As a parent, we don’t want our children hearing these types of lyrics. And as a voter, it’s time that the quality of
the debate and the election campaign was lifted to a higher level than burning of effigies, torching candidate
billboards, chanting ‘F John Key’ and now this trash.”
“Family First is calling on all political parties to condemn the song, and for the Internet Mana party to ask their
founder to remove it from the Mega site,” says Mr McCoskrie.
Family First has already succeeded in getting the original version of the “F John Key” banned. They will be laying a formal complaint with the Office of Film and Literature Classification and will consider whether
to lay a complaint with the police.
