International mobilisation against Gaza massacre

Auckland first in international mobilisation against massacre in Gaza
Auckland will be the first country leading off with a protest march tomorrow in an international day of action to mobilise the people of the world against the Israeli massacre of Palestinians in Gaza.
People are being asked to bring old shoes (ones they’re happy not to bring home) for a protest which will gather at Aotea Square at 12 noon and end at the US consulate in Customs Street.
The Auckland march will call for –
• Condemnation of Israeli brutality and support for the Palestinian struggle for justice.
• The withdrawal of troops from Gaza and the West Bank.
• A boycott of all commercial, trade, diplomatic, sporting, cultural and academic contact with Israel.
The callous brutality of the Israeli occupation army in Gaza is just the latest chapter in a 60 year reign of terror suffered by Palestinians driven out of their homes and off their land by Zionist terror squads.
Attacks on schools and UN aid convoys are par for the course for Israel which acts with absolute impunity in the worst humanitarian abuses towards Palestinians.
The obsequious, fawning comments by our Foreign Minister Murray McCully emphasises the gutlessness of foreign government to confront the racist policies of Israel towards Palestinians.
Within Israeli itself the Israeli government spends six times more on the education for each Jewish child compared to that spend on education for each Arab-Israeli (Palestinian) child.
Within the last few days senior Israeli politicians have expressed the desire to expel these Palestinians from Israel and remove their citizenship.
It is for reason such as these Nelson Mandela and Bishop Desmond Tutu among many other have labelled Israeli policy towards Palestinians as apartheid.
