National's campaign opening address live on web
The National Party's 12 minute campaign opening address is now live on the Party's website at www.national.org.nz
The opening address will screen tonight on TV One between 7.10pm and 7.15pm. It will also be broadcast on Radio New Zealand around 8.40pm.
National's Campaign Chair Steven Joyce said the opening address had been released by the Party ahead of schedule in recognition of the importance the internet now plays in modern campaigning.
"The internet is an extremely important tool for reaching different groups of people at various times. People want to see things at any time of the day and don't necessarily want to, or have time to, wait for scheduled television or radio time slots.
"By releasing our campaign opening address early, people can view it at their leisure and it doesn't matter if they are not able to sit down in front of the television or listen to the radio tonight.
"The public clearly wants new forms of communication and we are responding to that with a very good internet gateway that allows people to access information about the National Party 24/7," Mr Joyce says.
