Hekia Parata statement on Peters claims
The National Party's candidate for Mana, Hekia Parata, is moving to dismiss mischief making claims made by Winston Peters today.
"On Sunday I attended a hui at which I was invited to speak about my candidacy for the National Party.
"In my presentation I made it clear I was seeking their Party Vote support. As a throw away remark at the end of my presentation I did say that if they really did not feel they were able to give me their vote, they should consider the Maori Party.
"That is because after nine long years, Labour has totally failed to deliver for Maori and totally failed to deliver for the good people of Mana."
