Labour Wellington Central Campaign Kicks Off
The Labour Candidate for Wellington Central, Grant Robertson, officially launched his campaign at The San Francisco Bathhouse in Cuba St yesterday afternoon together with around 100 volunteers and supporters.
“I’ve been campaigning since November last year when I was selected as Labour’s candidate, but with only 39 days to go until election day, the launch signifies the campaign beginning in earnest,” Grant said.
“I am campaigning on the positive differences that Labour has made to people lives, here in Wellington and right around New Zealand. We live in a great city and a great country and the choice the country makes on 8 November will decide if we build on the gains of the last nine years,”
“I’ll continue to be out and about in the electorate over the next six weeks, talking with and listening to Wellingtonians, speaking at candidate and community meetings, holding cottage meetings, and door knocking,”
Outgoing MP for Wellington Central, the Hon Marian Hobbs spoke at the event and called on Wellington Central residents to support Grant to become their next MP.
“Grant is a candidate of intelligence, integrity and commitment and I am so delighted to be handing over to him in this election,” Marian said.
The launch also included speeches from Andrew Little and Grant himself and musical entertainment from the recently formed Paul Newman Memorial Project.
