Investitures – Government House Auckland
The achievements of New Zealanders across a wide spectrum of fields will be celebrated at Investiture Ceremonies at
Government House Auckland this week.
The Governor-General, Hon Anand Satyanand, will host four ceremonies at 10.30am on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and
Friday this week (September 23—26). Those to receive their honours include Sir Murray Halberg, who will be made a Member
of the Order of New Zealand. Sir Murray will receive the Badge worn by the late Sir Edmund Hillary.
Also receiving awards are Glenfield’s Taufui Aevalu Paea who will receive the NZ Bravery Star for tackling a man, who
stabbed and killed his neighbour, Elisabeth and Neville Findlay, of the Zambesi brand, former MP Joe Hawke, journalist
Warwick Roger, Navman founder Peter Maire, and former rugby and rugby league player Va'aiga Tuigamala. Others being
