Auckland City Police has assigned an investigator to look into allegations and admissions of historical assault by broadcaster Tony Veitch that have been raised in the public arena this week.
As part of her inquiry, the investigating officer will assess information in the public domain, including the statement delivered by Mr Veitch yesterday. Police have not received a formal complaint of assault regarding the incident of two and a half years ago.
No further statement will be available from Police on the matter today.
