SOLO-NZ Press Release: Joris de Bres -
Hypocrite

Massey University economist Greg Clydesdale's published findings from a 3-year study indicate that migrant Pacific Islanders' crime rates, poor education and low employment are creating an underclass that is draining the NZ economy. I am not an economist, and I have not read the research, so I won't comment on the value or accuracy of his findings.
However, the Dominion Post reports in an editorial today:
"Interviewed this week, Mr de Bres seemed as irritated by the fact that the research was done at all and that a media outlet had the temerity to report it as with any 'issues' that the study might have raised."
Could this be because Race Relations Commissioner Joris de Bres had himself done extensive research on Pacific Island migration and labour? It could be! Joris de Bres wrote a number of studies in this area in the 70s, with his comrade, then-Socialist Unity Party member Rob Campbell:
Worth Their Weight in Gold
(1975)
Migrant Labour in the Pacific (1974)
The
Overstayers : illegal migration from the Pacific to New
Zealand (1976)
So race-based research in the areas of migration and labour is okay, provided the conclusions are acceptable to Mr de Bres? Hypocrite!
Mr de Bres is planning a "review" of the study, despite no official complaint being made to his office. Stand by for an exercise in politically correct thought-policing.
