Readers of weblog The Standard to interview PM Helen Clark
As part of its on-going "Interview the Leaders" series, popular political blog The Standard is asking members of the public to post questions to the Prime Minister, Helen Clark.
In a first for New Zealand politics the Prime Minister will answer the selected questions in her post on Monday the 21st of April.
A spokesperson for The Standard says getting Prime Minister Clark to participate is a huge success.
"We've already had Jim Anderton answer our readers' questions and Jeanette Fitzsimons' answers will be posted next Monday. For the Prime Minister to also agree to take part shows how significant the blogosphere is becoming in New Zealand politics.
"By posting on the Standard the Prime Minister will be talking directly to thousands of the most politically aware voters in the country.
'Interview the Leaders' is our attempt to encourage a robust debate in which our readers get to ask the hard questions of politicians as directly as possible."
People interested in participating can still submit questions for The Standard to ask the Prime Minister at http://www.thestandard.org.nz/?p=1601
The Standard has been running since August last year and has one of the largest readerships in New Zealand's political blogosphere.
