CTU agrees with PM – living standards top priority
The CTU today welcomed the statement from the PM that their top priority in Government has been to improve both living standards and the services people need.
Helen Kelly, CTU President said that “the comprehensive statement to Parliament indicates that while a lot has been done – there is also a lot more to do”.
The Schools Plus plan, extra funding for social service agencies, targets on elective surgery, and commitments around housing affordability are all initiatives that that are aimed at key social issues.
The CTU also welcomes the ongoing leadership of the Government alongside Business NZ and the CTU on a unified skills strategy.
