*Memo to Crim-Scum—Nanny State Luvs Ya!
**January 6, 2008
*Another stellar instance of the Culture of Victimhood spawned over decades by successive National and Labour governments adorns the front pages of today's *Sunday Star-Times,* observes SOLO Principal Lindsay Perigo.
According to the SST:
*ACC has agreed to pay for a serial burglar to have a new left ear constructed in a rare and complex series of operations after his was bitten off by a police dog. The surgery is estimated to cost around $20,000 and Casey Voges, 29, is planning legal action to force authorities let him have the procedure in prison.
*"It appears Mr. Voges sustained the injury while resisting arrest in 2005," says Perigo. "He confesses to trying to flee the scene and 'being a little bastard,' even while claiming, 'I'm a victim too.'
"Yet again it's the involuntarily generous taxpayer who's the real victim," Perigo points out. "Had Mr. Voges cut off an uncooperative taxpayer's ear in the course of one of his many burglaries, that taxpayer would still be awaiting compensation and probably never receive it. (Politically Correct sociologists and other academic nincompoops would be dubbing *him* the perpetrator.) That's the way the system works. How could it be otherwise? It simply emulates the macro-model painstakingly constructed over decades by stinking Nanny-State governments promoting a culture of *institutionalised*theft and cannibalism. Mr. Voges and his empathisers are the perfect proteges of such equally unedifying specimens as Clark, Cullen and Key—and all their philosophical forebears.
"As Mr. Voges awaits his taxpayer-funded bionic ear from the comfort of his taxpayer-funded accommodation, it might occur to him that next time he's on the loose he could commit *literal *cannibalism and claim—and receive—compensation for indigestion, the poor thing," Perigo concludes.
