Christmas Gift Ideas
Stuck for Christmas ideas? Sick of the commercial hype? One family's creative solution is to gift the money they would have spent on Christmas presents towards the work of Downtown Community Ministry.
In a note attached to a generous donation recently, a DCM supporter says, "Our family decided to donate to DCM, our favourite charity, instead of spending money on gifts. We like the idea as it takes away so much of the angst around Christmas shopping for things none of us need".
DCM Director Stephanie McIntyre says, "It's great to see the confidence people have in a trusted local organisation like DCM. They know their donation really will make a difference to those in need".
Stephanie says there are three ways to give to DCM this Christmas. "People can make a financial donation via cheque or bank deposit, they can donate much needed goods to our food bank, or they can sign up as a DCM volunteer."
So, if Dad really doesn't need that pair of socks tell him DCM, and our work amongst those in need, are getting a donation instead.
