RWNZ hails lifeline for PlunketLine
Rural Women New Zealand welcomes news that Parliament’s Health Select Committee has recommended that the Government should fund PlunketLine.
Due to isolation or distance, rural families may often find themselves relying in the first instance on phone support for health issues relating to their young children.
The close link between PlunketLine and Plunket Nurses working in rural communities is also vital to ensuring rural families don’t fall between the cracks.
“The community / Plunket connection is critical for isolated parents and their children,” says RWNZ national president Sherrill Dackers.
