As the locked-out distribution workers enter their third week, community support, donations and actions are escalating, says the National Distribution Union

The Council of Trade Unions will hold a special meeting of affiliated unions in Wellington today to discuss more financial support for distribution workers who have been locked out by Progressive Enterprises.

New Zealand's top grafitti crew, Disruptiv, whose members recently won the Write4Gold World Finals in Germany, will spray paint live a 6m murial at:

20 out of 27 of Progressive's South Island meat processing workers in the Meat Workers Union, earning 30% less than the industry standard, are on their first day of a four day strike.
Friday: Unions Discuss Solidarity Direct Actions -------------------------------------------------------------------------- --
Trevor Hanson, from the Maritime Union and X from the Railway, union have been in joint discussions on solidarity actions with Australian unions including the Maritime Union of Australia, the Rail Tram and Bus Union, and the Transport Workers Union, with donations already pouring in from major Australian unions.

Auckland Locked out workers and their families will be holding a public rally with reggae legend Tingi Ness (Father of Che Fu, Unity Pacific), local upcoming reggae band "Three Doors Down" and Maori R'n'B group "Kotuku."
