NZDF Welcomes New Governor General
A fanfare of trumpets and a 21 gun salute by the New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) will mark the start of ceremonies to swear-in the new Governor General on Wednesday 23 August.
Mr Anand Satyanand, PCNZM, is due to arrive at Parliament at 11.45am tomorrow, where he will be sworn in as the Governor General of New Zealand.
Personnel from the Navy, Army and Air Force will form a 100 strong Royal tri-Service Guard of honour for Mr Anand to inspect.
Following the ceremony the new Governor General will lay a wreath at the National War Memorial in honour of New Zealand's war dead.
A 24 person Guard of Honour, Catafalque Guard, bugler and drummer from the NZDF will also attend the commemorative service, which is due to take place at 3pm.
