Airtrainers Buzz Over the South Island
Trainee flying instructors will this week learn how to teach navigation and mountain flying during an exercise over the South Island.
The four trainees, flying the CT-4 Airtrainer, and their instructors will fly the length of the South Island making overnight stops in Dunedin, Stewart Island, Queenstown and Christchurch.
The students are all pilots, learning to become qualified flying instructors at the Central Flying School based at RNZAF Base Ohakea.
Weather permitting, the aircraft are scheduled to making the following stops during the navigation exercise.
Date Stop One Stop Two Overnight Mon 23 Wigram Dunedin Tues 24 Omarama Invercargill Stewart Island Wed 25 Invercargill Milford Sound Queenstown Thurs 26 Ashburton Wigram Friday Return to Ohakea
