Transport sector review welcomed
The PSA welcomes the Government’s announcement today of a review of the transport sector and will be seeking to be involved to ensure our members’ interests are considered, PSA national secretary Richard Wagstaff said today.
“The review should not be looked on as reform of the sector, but as a way to improve it and make it stronger. “
Richard Wagstaff said the review of New Zealand’s public management system, the Review of the Centre, was carried out in 2001. Recommendations which came out of the review included better integration of structures and processes within the public service.
“The PSA was involved in the Review of the Centre from day one and will be seeking to be involved in the review of the transport sector on behalf of our members in the sector.”
Richard Wagstaff said the PSA would like to see implementation of the Review of the Centre recommendations accelerated.
