Milne in Ashburton on Enrolment Blitz

Labour candidate for Rakaia, Tony Milne, is in Ashburton tomorrow on an enrolment blitz.
Tony will visit the YMCA, the local polytech and Agribusiness, and the Salvation Army’s Employment Plus when he visits Ashburton on Wednesday 19 June.
“It is estimated that as many as 200 000 potential voters do not appear on any electoral roll. In March this year only 80% of eligible 18-24 year olds had enrolled in Rakaia compared to 98% of 50-59 year olds. That is not good enough” Tony Milne said.
Tony Milne will be enrolling voters, making sure that young people and those considering not voting know the importance and significance of their vote, and spreading Labour’s good news for Rakaia and young people.
Tony’s message to young people is that it is not inevitable that the National candidate will win the Rakaia seat.
“This election Labour is polling very well, even in what have been traditionally National held seats”, Tony Milne said.
“We have been campaigning strongly over the past several months”. “The message the people of Rakaia give me is that they want their MP to be a government MP who can be a strong voice for this electorate in government for the next term”, Tony Milne said.
“The only way to ensure that is for the people of Rakaia to give two ticks to Labour”, Tony Milne said.
