Mad Kyoto Disease Infects Greenpeace Members

Published: Thu 12 Jul 2001 02:09 PM
"Greenpeace are the latest victims of a massive con-job perpetrated by the anti-industrial movement ten years ago at Kyoto," said Libertarianz spokesman Richard McGrath today.
"My party thanks Mobil for its lobbying of President Bush, who has done the civilised world a great favour by refusing to ratify the Kyoto treaty," he added.
"Despite the claims of environmentalists, global warming remains an unproven theory and a number of prominent scientists have long expressed serious reservations over the shonky data used by the IPCC," McGrath said.
Dr McGrath described the Kyoto recommendations as a Luddite manifesto which would seriously threaten New Zealand's prosperity. "Implementing these protocols would be a huge step backwards, with serious repercussions on productivity, employment and quality of life in this country."
"A Libertarianz government would allow people to use fossil fuels without penalty. We would also encourage private research into alternative sources of energy by abolishing corporate tax. If cheaper and cleaner options to petroleum derivatives could be developed and marketed, people would probably use them."
