"Probation Workers all over New Zealand met this morning, and voted to walk off the job again", said PSA National
Secretary Richard Wagstaff.
"Our members have come out strongly in favour of continuing their industrial action, in the light of the continued
suspension of their colleagues."
"There has been no movement towards a resolution in this dispute, which began when some staff took limited and lawful
industrial action, including refusing to do some training while continuing to process their work".
"The CPS responded in a heavy-handed manner by suspending the workers, which provoked a national walk out. The
continuing refusal to reinstate the suspended workers underscores the poor employment relationship which has developed
at CPS".
"Last weeks offer from CPS does little to address base pay rates or work loads. Our members are frustrated at this lack
of progress after nine months of negotiation and many years without a pay rise".
"A settlement which contains tangible and immediate recognition of the work that Administration and Probation Officers
do is required if we are to resolve this matter," said Richard Wagstaff.
