At the last count more than 365,000 hits had been received by the Young National’s “nocrap” website. The success of the
site is partly due to publicity generated by Labour MP Pete Hodgson’s complaints.
“Some people just have a look but many Internet users want to be heard. The nocrap crew have been receiving e-mails that
cut to the heart of politics in real New Zealand.” says National MP Annabel Young. She has provided this email as a
sample:
“I went to school with Janette Fitzsimons son…they used to stop and scrape dead possums off the road with a spade
specially kept in the boot, they then burnt them and spread the ash over the garden – seriously weird.”
Annabel Young say that the Young National’s want to know:
1. Is burning possums (releasing smoke ) the environmentally correct way to dispose of possums ?
2. Did Janette check that her road-kill wasn’t infected with TB before she transported it home?
3. What is the effect on the environment of burning a possum that has eaten 1080 poison? and. finally,
4. What was a Janette doing in a car?
