ACT Leader Richard Prebble says he's coming to Gisborne tomorrow to give ACT's
message that restoring profitability to New Zealand's primary industry should
be our number one economic objective.
"Labour's fired its heartland support as being surplus to requirements," Mr
Prebble said. "And there is strong discontent with National's service of the
heartland.
"Over the last three years the ACT Party has been rural New Zealand's most
dependable voice in Parliament. ACT has more candidates from rural New Zealand
in its top 10 places than any other party. And ACT has made no secret of the
fact that we'd be proud to represent the heartland."
Mr Prebble will have a walkabout in Gladstone Road around 11 am, and meet with
transport industry representatives at 2 pm and horticulturists at 3.30 pm.
Tomorrow evening Mr Prebble will launch the campaign of ACT Gisborne candidate
Ian Swan at 7 pm at the Poverty Bay Club.
And on Wednesday morning the ACT Leader will address Gisborne Rotary at a
breakfast meeting at the Poverty Bay Club.
