Finance Minister travels to annual IMF/World Bank and APEC meetings
Finance Minister Grant Robertson is travelling today to attend a series of international economic meetings and bilateral
engagements in Indonesia, Malaysia and Papua New Guinea.
Mr Robertson is attending the IMF/World Bank annual meeting in Bali from October 12-13. There he will have a series of
engagements including meetings with counterparts, ratings agencies and officials from the World Bank and IMF.
Mr Robertson then travels to Malaysia from October 14-15. He is meeting Malaysia Finance Minister Lin Guan Eng, Economy
Minister Azmin Ali, and Youth and Sports Minister Syed Siddique. He is also hosting a lunch with New Zealand firms in
Malaysia.
Mr Robertson is then attending the APEC Finance Ministers’ meeting in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea from October 16-18.
Discussions between APEC Finance Ministers include the global and regional economic outlooks and key issues and
recommendations for promoting more balanced, inclusive, sustainable, innovative and secure growth across the
Asia-Pacific region.
“These meetings come at an important time for the global economy and are good opportunity for us to engage directly with
our closest trading partners and discuss plans for productive, sustainable and inclusive growth,” Grant Robertson said.
