District Court judge appointed
Tini Clark of Hamilton has been appointed a District Court Judge with a jury warrant to be based in Manukau, Attorney-General David Parker has announced.
Ms Clark was admitted to the bar in September 1994 after graduating from Te Whare Wānanga o Waikato (Waikato University).
Of Tainui descent (Ngāti Tīpa, Ngāti Tahinga and Ngāti Āmaru) Ms Clark has over 20 years of legal experience. She began her career in general practice in Pukekohe, Te Awamutu and Hamilton before moving to the Hawkes Bay where she specialised in criminal law as defence counsel and as a Crown panel member.
Ms Clark then joined the Crown Solicitors’ offices in Gisborne and in Hamilton.
Since 2004, Ms Clark has been a Crown prosecutor with Almao Douch and has prosecuted numerous jury trials in the District Court and High Court.
Judge Clark will be sworn in on 10 August 2018 in Tuakau
