Andrew Little Gives 8,759 Strike Offences a Clean Slate
"Andrew Little has just created the evilest clean slate law. He's told the criminals responsible for 8,759 violent and sexual offences scheduled in the Sentencing Act that they can commit more crimes without facing longer sentences," says ACT Leader David Seymour
"Three Strikes is a young policy. Only one offender has committed enough crimes in the past seven years to earn a third strike. Neverthless early evidence has found that the policy reduces offending.
"Andrew Little's message to 8,543 first strikers and 216 second strikers is that their strke warnings will be invalid, they have a clean slate. Little must front to the vicitms and their families of those Strikers he's letting off.
"Little must explain why he is putting the rights of criminals ahead of the rights of victims and ideology ahead of evidence, except he doesn't have any.
