Apologies Needed to Farmers Over Havelock North Water
Politicians who made serious accusations around the cause of the Havelock North water contamination should surely now apologise, says New Zealand First.
"Those politicians who jumped the gun apportioning blame to certain industries need to look in the mirror,” New Zealand First Leader and Northland MP Rt Hon Winston Peters.
“As it turns out, it now appears it was not farmers or farm animals as one party claimed without a shred of evidence, and nor was it Te Mata Mushrooms.”
The Hawke's Bay Regional Council has laid charges against the Hastings District Council for resource consent breaches.
