Budget 2014 - Managing a growing economy
Today Bill English will deliver National's sixth Budget.
Over the past five Budgets, National has steered New Zealand through natural disasters, Labour's domestic recession, and
the effects of the global financial crisis. And we've done that while responsibly managing the Government's finances.

Though we are still in a tight fiscal position, National is prepared to invest more money in priority areas where we can
make a real difference. But we need to do that without making the mistakes of the previous Government, when spending got
out of control, interest rates went sky-high, and New Zealand went into domestic recession as a result.
