Mighty River Power share offer closes on Friday
State Owned Enterprises Minister Tony Ryall has today reminded New Zealanders that the Mighty River Power share offer closes this week.
“Applications from New Zealand retail investors must be received by 5pm this Friday, and that includes payment”, Mr Ryall says.
“As the offer document notes, applicants who are applying online and chose the one-time withdrawal payment option must submit their application by 5pm Friday 3 May. It is worth checking with your bank in advance that it will accept the one-time withdrawal instruction.”
“Applicants who are applying using the hard copy application form, or who are applying online and chose the cheque payment option, should note that their application forms and cheques must be received in Auckland by 5pm Friday, which for most New Zealanders means having them in the post as soon as they can.”
New Zealanders who need assistance with their applications can call 0800 90 03 90, and if you still need an offer document it can be downloaded from www.mightyrivershares.govt.nz
“Only New Zealand retail investors have been able to apply during this offer period. This is part of the Government’s commitment to have New Zealanders at the front of the queue and to encourage widespread New Zealand ownership of shares,” says Mr Ryall.
“The mixed ownership programme is part of the Government’s wider economic plan to control debt and to keep investing in our economy.”
