Mahara Okeroa acknowledges the sudden passing of Monte Ohia
MP for Te Tai Tonga, Hon Mahara Okeroa, has expressed his deep sorrow at the sudden passing of Monte Ohia, Maori Party candidate for Te Tai Tonga today.
"I offer my sincerest condolences to his wife, Linda, their children, whanau, close friends and Maori Party colleagues at this sad time," Mahara Okeroa said.
"I have known Monte for many years and he was a man of great humility. Monte was a formidable candidate in the 2005 election campaign".
"Monte's passing will be felt deeply by all who valued his lifetime contribution to Maori in areas like education and te reo Maori. My thoughts are with Monte's whanau at this time," Mahara Okeroa said.
