Brash's distortion continues
Labour strategist Pete Hodgson today said Don Brash's latest tirade against Taito Phillip Field utterly distorts the
facts.
"From the time the Ingram report was released, the Prime Minister made it clear that Mr Field would not be reappointed
as a minister, and she made it clear that his behaviour had not been acceptable," Pete Hodgson said.
"She also made it clear that any relevant authority could investigate further into issues within the report, if they so
wished.
"The Ingram report was commissioned to guide the Prime Minister with respect to Mr Field's behaviour as a minister.
Unlike National's former leader Robert Muldoon, Helen Clark does not launch inquiries into individual MPs. If she did,
she would be launching one into Don Brash's covert big money-fund-raising activities.
"Labour welcomes the police inquiry. But unlike National, we presume that people are innocent until found guilty."
