Time to get serious with small business
"The Government has to stop paying lip service to the recommendations of the Small Business Action Group (SBAG) and respond to its first report," says National Party Economic Development spokeswoman Katherine Rich.
"The report was published 15 months ago and Cabinet still hasn't officially seen the document, let alone responded to it.
"What's strange is that the Small Business Minister has confirmed in Parliamentary questions that she has no idea when the concerns of the Small Business Advisory Group will be officially put before the Cabinet.
"Now I understand the publication of the second report is delayed because the first one hasn't been dealt with.
"SBAG has worked hard to present the Government with advice on how it can make things easier for small businesses in New Zealand.
"It is insulting to those involved that after 15 months there has still been no official response," says Mrs Rich.
