NZ Conservation Authority appointments
Conservation Minister Chris Carter today announced his appointments to the 13 member New Zealand Conservation Authority.
“The New Zealand Conservation Authority is a unique organisation, a statutory body, which has a particular influence on
the way national parks are managed. It recently approved a new General Policy for National Parks which will guide
management planning for each park.”
“I have appointed seven new members and reappointed six current members to the Authority” Mr Carter said.
The new members are Barbara Arnold of Palmerston North, Kay Booth of Lincoln, Michael Crozier of Wellington, Charles
Crofts of Diamond Harbour, Robyn Jebson of Queenstown, Basil Morrison of Paeroa, and Piri Sciascia of Wellington. “
“Between them they have significant experience in conservation and I believe that they all have the capability to make
in-depth contributions to the work of the Authority” he said.
Appointed for a further term are Kerry Marshall of Richmond, who continues as the chairperson, John Nankervis and Wendy
Nelson of Wellington, Lorraine Stephenson of Dannevirke, Linda Conning of Te Teko and David Chandler of Auckland.
