PM and King to announce cataract initiative
Prime Minister Helen Clark and Health Minister Annette King will announce a major cataract operations initiative at 9.30am tomorrow. The media is invited to join them to watch a live telelink to the mobile surgical bus as a cataract operation is performed.
The operation will be beamed into Annette King's office at room 6.1 in the Beehive.
Following the operation, the Prime Minister and Health Minister will provide details of the cataract initiative and it will also be possible to talk to health professionals on the bus, including the ophthalmologist conducting the operation.
